Our human experiences
Have narrow or wide variances
From each other.
Each of us
Focus
On the orbit
That we revolve around.
We tend to hang tight
In its path
And then try to fit
Everything else around it
To its shape.
We find it hard to escape
From the central attraction
That keeps us moving around
With its strong effect like gravitation
The components of which
Are made out of –
Our genes, our education
Family, society, our cultural contributions
Our previous experiences
And our expectations.
All such factors
Come together
And become the central force
That determines the course
Of our tracks –
The shapes of our orbits.
And because the contributors
Behind these central attractors
Are different
From person to person
And from moment to moment
The orbits that each of them
Shape and represent
Cannot be the same
And cannot be constant.
So the resulting tracks
Usually lack
Any smoothness
They are usually zigzag
And they don’t coincide
With each other
Instead
In many different directions
They can deviate
And many different forms
They are able to take
With temporal and personal variations.
Sources of many of our conflicts
Come from our attempts to fit
All such irreconcilable shapes and forms
Into any one single structure or norm.
What each of us prefer
Is for everyone else to enter
And follow our own orbit
Which is impossible to do
As each of us is responding to
Our own central force
Which for each of us is different
And may also be changing
So does not remain constant.
The best we can do
As human beings
Is to recognize the differences
That exists
And try to go on
With our own orbital motions
Without too many collisions
Which then will allow us
To minimize our conflicts.
If all of us
Were moving around
In one smooth path
In synchrony and in unison
Then there would be no reason
For any such collision.
But since our paths are different
Also variable and random
It must then be apparent
Not requiring too much wisdom
That some collisions
Are bound to happen
Sooner or later.
However
When approaching an impending collision
If each of us can change our direction
Just a little bit
Then we might be able to
Avoid and defeat
Such destructive impacts
Allowing ourselves to avoid our conflicts
And thus we might be able
To enjoy the benefits
Of staying close
To each other’s orbits.
